Approach Shoes

Approach shoes are the middle ground between hiking boots and climbing shoes. They're usually used by rock climbers. Climbing shoes are not designed for walking, so climbers need comfy yet grippy shoes to get them from trailhead to the technical cliff, crag or buttress, where they swap to climbing shoes. But approach shoes are also great for scrambling, rocky day hikes and city-to-mountain travel adventures because they are lightweight, super comfortable and have plenty of traction.
